Are certain species of wood chips toxic to other plants?

Research has shown that most trees which contain toxins in them to kill other plants (called allelopathy) don't actually transfer those toxins to the soil when used as mulch.  Check out this article for more information on this.  That said, if there are any species that you don't want, there is a section in your profile where you can list them. The arborists should honor these requests.
