Does it cost money to use ChipDrop?

ChipDrop charges arborists a flat fee per drop, which is generally between $20-$40 USD. Our pricing varies by country, city and time of year, but it is usually highly competitive with drop fees in your local area. There is no subscription or monthly fee to use ChipDrop.

Gardeners and homeowners may help offset the cost to arborists by voluntarily offering to pay for a delivery. Here's how it works:

• When a gardener places a ChipDrop request, we ask them if they would like to pay for the arborist's fee. We communicate that this could help increase their chances of getting a ChipDrop sooner.
• If the gardener offers to pay, we do not charge the arborist for a delivery at that site, we only charge the gardener.
• Gardeners can also offer to pay an additional amount, on top of the drop fee. This amount will be applied to the arborist's account as credits to pay for future drops.

Arborists can accrue credits by dropping at sites where the gardener has offered to pay for a delivery. These credits will tally up in the arborist's account and can be used towards future drops. Credits can never be cashed in, or redeemed outside of the ChipDrop service. They can only be used towards drops which might otherwise require the arborist to pay a fee.
